CEW has been participating in the European Water Test Network project since the summer of 2018. The aim of the project is to create a European network of test facilities with different types of water where SMEs from Northwest Europe can test, demonstrate and develop their innovations for the water sector. In this way the project wants to stimulate new innovations and accelerate the market introduction.
Focus on SMEs
Within the project (previously called LL4WIDE), SMEs are supported in accelerating the market introduction of their water technologies. In addition to assistance with the validation and verification of products, this support also consists of financing. The project makes vouchers available up to € 50,000 for testing products at the test facilities.
CEW role
In addition to the Centre of Expertise Water Technology (CEW), the Water Alliance is also partner of the project. Both parties are part of WaterCampus Leeuwarden. An important part of WaterCampus are the 5 demosites where companies can carry out tests. By participating in this project, these demosites become part of a European network and are strongly promoted. In addition, this project offers members of the Water Alliance and CEW and other companies a wide choice of test facilities to test their product / innovation, whereby they can also use (financial) support. In the project, the CEW is mainly responsible for supporting SMEs while testing on the demo sites and developing a long-term vision for the Water Test Network after the project has finished.
